About

I recently returned to Hampshire having many years ago studied Fine Art at Winchester School of Art. After Winchester I returned to London and continued painting and studying etching with Norman Ackroyd.

In the 1990’s I decided to renew my interest in art history, studying first at The Renaissance Art Accademia from 1992-94. This was followed by an extra-mural Art History Diploma at Birkbeck College, University of London from 1994-1997. During this period I still continued painting and also moved back to printing linocuts.

Later, in 1999 I joined the new guides team for the opening of Tate Modern in the year 2000. I have been an official guide at both Tate Britain and Tate Modern for the past 24 years.

2006 was an adventure and I moved to France, to a town called Vence which is near Nice in the South of France. Moving back and forth on a regular basis I continued to paint in my studio in France, returning to London to take tours at Tate Modern and visit family.

Whilst in Vence, the opportunity arose to give a series of lectures to the International Women’s Group of the South of France on famous artists who had lived and visited the area over the past two decades.

In 2022 I moved back to England permanently. I am now living in Old Bursledon, continuing to paint and make linocuts in my new studio, still giving tours and watching the river Hamble for artistic inspiration.
